Bethany Bondurant - Theater
Originally a transplant from the Appalachian Mountains, Bethany Bondurant currently lives in New Bern, North Carolina. She began her studies at East Carolina University in 2008 where she discovered her passion for teaching and sharing theatre arts. Currently, she is a senior majoring in Theatre for Youth and Theatre Education.
Recent projects and performances include the Young Playwrights Project, where she has been able to bring theatre into low income schools to help the children develop writing skills. She has also been active in creating multiple workshops in playwriting, acting, movement, props, and costumes for children at the Turnage Theatre. Through the Global Classroom at ECU, she has had the opportunity to discuss theatre, education, and culture with peers in Peru and China, and is currently working on a project for the Global Partners in Education Conference in May.
She has spent her summers working as a camp counselor for ECU’s Summer Drama Camp instructing ages 5 to 7, the Beaufort County Arts Council Arts Camp and Moore County Arts Council Theatre Camp in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Her acting credits include Charlotte’s Web, Listen to the Wind, Graceland, Seussical, and The Stinky Cheese Man.
