Broadway Bridges

American Voices has pioneered the use of Hip Hop as cultural diplomacy (“Hiplomacy“) as means for to teach positive self-expression, social cohesion and community development.

The Broadway Bridges program helps aspiring singers, dancers and actors the world over to discover their inner “triple threat” as part of the Broadway Bridges program, participants learn selections from timeless musicals such as RentWest Side Story, Sound of MusicGreaseWicked and Footloose. In addition, they study and workshop excerpts from contemporary Broadway shows such as Hamilton. Past Broadway Bridges programs include programs in Russia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Thailand.

As part of the American Voices theater training program, participants also learn the technical aspects of a production as well as the art of staging and choreography.

In addition, American Voices provides teacher training for adult and children’s theater, mime, puppetry and storytelling.
