Iraq YES AcademyThe YES Academy Kurdistan ran from July 10 to 19, 2009 and served more than 300 Iraqi youth in a national program touching lives from Baghdad and Basra to Erbil and Suleimaniya. There was a full program of Jazz, Hip Hop, Children’s theater and classical music. The academy culminated in a fantastic gala concert at Peshawa Hall in Erbil featuring the YES String Orchestra, the YES Kids, Erbil’s B-Boys, the Street Wolves and much more.

Additionally, Jazz pianist Mike Del Ferro toured the Kurdistan region of Iraq and performed in the cities of Erbil, Rania and Suleimaniya in Kurdistan region of Iraq from July 1 to 4, 2009. Concerts were viewed by hundreds live and by tens of thousands through live television broadcast and re-broadcast in the Kurdistan region.
