Maria Stallone

Maria Stallone has over 25 years of professional experience in international education and programming. Following a well-traveled upbringing, she studied abroad in Sweden and London before earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Maria first traveled to India in 1993 with the prestigious Rotary Foundation Fellowship, where she began her studies in Indian classical music and dance. She completed her graduate work in Ethnomusicology, achieving an Award of Merit at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. She went on to serve as the Director of five different undergraduate study-abroad centers in Asia and Europe. In this role, she was responsible for all aspects of academic and logistical oversight of the programs, including supervising the development of new courses, building and managing multi-ethnic and multicultural teams, and all other elements of in-country administration, budgeting, and student services. As the Director of Programming for American Voices, she manages and mentors diverse in-country program teams worldwide, serves as the organizational grant writer, and develops and facilitates training in cross-cultural and educational strategies. Maria lives in Thailand, where she is also an active member of the tango dancing community.
