Laurence Andries
Biography
Laurence Andries, a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, has been writing professionally for over twenty years. In 1994, Laurence wrote, “Kangaroo Court.” Starring Gregory Hines and Michael O’Keefe, the short film marked actor Sean Astin’s directorial debut. “Kangaroo Court” was nominated for a 1995 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short.
Laurence has written and produced an eclectic mix of hour drama television, among them, Six Feet Under, Alias, Supernatural and Being Mary Jane, as well as one of the writers of HBO’s The Pacific, the companion miniseries to Band of Brothers. Most recently, Laurence served as Executive Producer, writer and director of SyFy’s, Superstition, and is currently writer and co-executive producer of Epix’s upcoming period crime drama, Godfather of Harlem. Laurence Andries also serves as VP of Programming of the Writers Guild Foundation.
