Richie ‘Robot’ Steighner
Biography
Richie “Robot” Steighner–beatboxer / producer / cultural diplomat–is a prismatic performing artist, writer, and music director. Winner of America’s National Harmony Sweepstakes and two-time finalist on NBC’s The SingOff, Richard’s worked with platinum artists and writers from Sony and Warner in the development of artist brands and promotion as well as hundreds of self-promoted shows and releases. His current project is an ambitious song-a-week series, writing and releasing a new song every week.
He spent 2020 writing and releasing a new all-vocal song weekly, garnering numerous awards. Richard also produces for other artists and works with Freedom’s Boombox as a cultural diplomat and beatboxer.
Richard studied architecture and psychology and pursued music as a hobby. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found a furniture company, a music app, a digital design company, and several concert series. After dozens of projects, Richard began an intense focus on music production as a means to reach the most people. His mission to encourage people to reach their highest potential is disguised as interactive beatboxing performances. Meticulously tailoring his craft for over 15 years, Richard has become well-known as an entertainer, speaking through rhythm instead of words.
Among dozens of awards across the music industry, Richard has recently won best hip hop song (CARA), best song by solo artist (CARA), best score for a short film from HIMPFF. Richard has also founded the Fusion Music Academy in Melbourne, Australia. There, he produces music with Christopher and Alfredo with aspiring artists. The goal is to develop a new generation of pop musicians who are focused less on the marketability of music and more on the message.
