Adam Green
Program Coordinator
Adam Green is an arts administrator, percussionist and teacher. His passion is finding meaningful ways to connect people to the arts.
In 2023, Adam retired from the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. after 21 years of service. During his tenure in the band, Adam managed the Concert Band’s biannual national tours team and led the marketing department in developing outreach and advertising products. As a producer and collaborator, he was able to expand audiences by organizing unique chamber music concerts, commissioning new music, and producing award winning music videos reaching over 500K viewers. As a musician, Adam served 21 years as a percussionist in the Concert Band performing for four U.S. Presidents and numerous foreign heads of state. In 2015 and 2022, he was selected for two military deployments where he performed in a rock band across Afghanistan, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE. Notably, in 2022, he had the privilege of performing at the FIFA World Cup in Doha and was featured during the ‘FOX NFL Sunday’ Salute to Veterans live broadcast in front of 20 million viewers.
In 2021, Adam was appointed as a Commissioner for the Arts in Arlington, Virginia. He currently serves as Chair of the Commission, playing a pivotal role ensuring local artists and organizations are fostered and cherished. In 2024, under Adam’s leadership, the Arts Commission successfully advocated for increased annual grant funding from the County bringing the total to $450K annually.
In addition to his work as an arts administrator, Adam is a professional percussionist and teacher. He has performed with major symphony orchestras and various ensembles across the Washington, D.C. area since 2002. As a teacher, Adam joined the faculty of Levine Music in 2013 and has maintained a private home studio since 2010.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Adam holds a bachelor’s degree and the prestigious Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and a master’s degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
To go along with his love of music and the arts, Adam enjoys playing ice hockey, cooking (especially BBQ), and spending time with his wife, two kids, and adorable dog.
